Getting started
Quickstart — Your first 12 minutes
From signup to live-on-air in less than the time it takes to make coffee.
Neopresenter is designed so that a single media volunteer can get a church live-streaming in under fifteen minutes. This guide walks you through every step.
Overview
By the end of this quickstart, you'll have:
- A Neopresenter workspace for your church
- Your first broadcast destination connected (YouTube, Facebook, or a custom RTMP)
- In-house projection running on at least one screen
- AI scripture detection live-tested with a sample sermon clip
Setup
1. Create your workspace
Head to neopresenter.app and sign up using your church's email. You'll be guided through naming your workspace, setting your timezone, and inviting your media team.
Tip: You can invite operators later. To get on-air faster, skip this step for now and add them after your first successful service.
2. Connect your first destination
In the studio sidebar, click Destinations → Add destination. Select your platform (YouTube, Facebook, X, or a custom RTMP target), authorize Neopresenter, and choose the stream/channel you want to broadcast to.
# If you're using custom RTMP
URL: rtmp://your-server.example.com/live
Stream key: <your-secret-key>
3. Test your ingest
Click Studio → Start preview. Neopresenter will accept your camera feed (USB, NDI, or browser source) and show a live preview without going on-air. Verify your audio levels are peaking around -12 dB.
Configuration
Open Settings → Output and confirm:
- Resolution: 1080p (or 720p if your upload is below 5 Mbps)
- Framerate: 30fps for sermons, 60fps if you have a multi-camera setup
- Bitrate: Auto (recommended) — we'll adapt to your connection
For in-house projection, go to Settings → Projection and enable NDI output. Any projector running NDI Tools (free download) on the same network will appear as a destination.
Troubleshooting
Stream not appearing in YouTube? YouTube's Live Control Room sometimes takes 30–60 seconds to detect a new ingest. Check the Stream health panel in Neopresenter — if it shows green, the issue is downstream.
Audio out of sync with video? Open Settings → Output → Audio offset and adjust in 20ms increments. Most setups need between -80ms and +40ms.
Need a hand? Email support@neopresenter.app or open a ticket from the studio. We typically respond within 2 hours during business hours, and our team will pair-program your first service free of charge.
